The McLaren M840T is a 4.0 liter, Twin Turbo, flat plane V8 engine that powers the 720s, Senna, GT, Speedtail exotic sports cars. Released in 2017, this is the latest upgrade to the 3.8 liter M380T found in older models like the 650s. Even further back, the engine carries residual DNA of a LeMans Nissan Engine and turbos from a Mitsubishi EVO.
After it’s launch, the 720s quickly became popular amongst tuners, sharing drag strips with the likes of Nissan GT-R’s and Audi R8s, yet claiming a lane for itself with an identifiable exhaust note. Our friends at MSL Performance were the first to start testing the limits and set the benchmark with the world’s first McLaren 720s to break the 200mph barrier with a record pass of 14.76 seconds @ 202.15 mph in the standing half mile and 22.93 seconds @ 227.99 mph in the standing 1 mile.
As others enthusiasts began to modify and upgrade their McLarens, Infinit Performance began getting calls for repairs and upgrades across the globe. McLaren did not offer replacement parts at the time and customers requested increased loads of over 1500 hp to be placed on the engine. Post mortems revealed the engines were suffering from excessive oil consumption, early failure and bent connecting rods – and a need for replacement McLaren Parts.
The Infinit Performance McLaren Engine Development Program utilizes our over 5 years of experience in producing some of the worlds finest racing engines and road engines. We have produced proprietary Pistons, Connecting Rods and Crankshaft, as well as improved Cylinder Liners, Head Gaskets, Fasteners, and all other associated parts needed to build and manage added power.
Infinit Performance has developed a Longblock engine program for Mclarens, we only provide sealed units for the client. No Shortblocks, we receive your engine and completely recondition it to the modifications of your choice Stage 1 or 2. We can also offer to upgrade your M838T 3.8L engine to M840T 4.0L spec. A good core must be provided. You will receive complete and sealed engine with all timing components installed, and valve covers and engine covers attached.
