Software Update Recommendation:
When installing 765LT accumulators on a McLaren 720S, it is advisable to update the vehicle's software to fully optimize the new hardware. Refer to McLaren technical document AFT.025.2022. The accumulators are integral to the suspension system, and the software update adjusts parameters such as damping rates, ride height, and other suspension-related settings to align with the new components.
However, many owners have replaced the accumulators without updating the software and have not reported any adverse effects. This suggests that while the update is recommended for optimal performance and safety, it may not be strictly necessary for the car to function properly with the new accumulators.
